1963 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible, fully restored

Sold. This is an archive.

Half a century ago, Karmann's coach-building expertise met the elegance of Ghia's Italian designers — their child was taken up by Volkswagen for production and stunned the world by its breath-taking curves and German reliability ...

... the result is an amazing head-turner, whose design and handling is as thrilling and full of touch as it was 40 years ago, when this specific car for the first time roamed the streets of Frankfurt, Germany.

This is a two-owner car.  The first owner took his prized possession along when he immigrated into the United States, where it has been ever since.  After an extensive frame-off restoration in Indiana, the Karmann Ghia was sold to sunny Florida, again to German owners.  The car is being meticulously maintained by the Wizards, renowned South Florida vintage-VW specialists.

With great regret, this car becomes available due to the dissolution of the owners' classic car collection, who move to a long-term assignment in East-Africa.

This 1963 Karmann Ghia Convertible is fully roadworthy and completely reliable.  Be prepared to attract equal attention as a vintage Corvette or modern Viper.  It even beat the Blue Baron in the number of positive comments.
